The Freight Route to Greece
Adriatic Lines offer dedicated capacity and facilities to driver accompanied trucks and unaccompanied trailers travelling between the ports of Ravenna in Italy and Corinth in Greece, with 6 sailings per week. The intermediate call into Igoumenitsa will be added in January 2010, in both directions.
Most of the vessels currently operating on the Adriatic Sea are principally passenger ferries which also carry freight. Their schedules are tailored to passengers and their deck capacity is primarily allocated to tourist vehicles.
Adriatic Lines do not service the car and tourist market: our large and efficient vessels are purpose built to carry trucks and trailers; ports, terminal facilities and schedule have therefore been carefully selected to meet freight needs.
Simon Taylor, Adriatic Lines Managing Director, says: “Our ships, terminals and schedule are tailored to service freight customers, but in effect our entire organisation, staff and business model - dedicated B2B web based services such as online bookings and vehicle tracking, shipping list, electronic invoicing, 24 hrs customer service - show that Adriatic Lines is truly devoted to introduce an effective freight link and offer customers the best opportunity to save costs and optimise their operations”.
